Notice of Intent to FileApplication with USDA, Rural Development
The Ketchikan Gateway Borough intends to file an application with USDA, Rural Development for financial assistance for the following purpose: South Tongass Water Phase VI, to construct a new potable water Booster Station and Storage Tank in the Ravenwood Subdivision, replace existing ductile iron water mains with HDPE in Romine and Roosevelt Drive, and to install a Pressure Reducing Vault and HDPE mains up to the Ravenwood Subdivision. This project will improve fire flow into the Herring Cove area, provide operating system pressures at the upper elevations of Ravenwood and allow for future development, provide a looped system to improve maintenance on Roosevelt Drive, and replace water mains with a high frequency of failure.
The Assembly will consider Resolution 2947 authorizing this application at the Regular Assembly Meeting of August 1, 2022, in the Assembly Chambers at the White Cliff Building, 1900 First Ave., Ketchikan, AK 99901, starting at 5:30pm. The public are encouraged to attend and speak to this item during a public hearing towards the start of the meeting.
